After many years I am sitting in front of my computer to
write a blog. Feels little emotional, I
closed my computer for last few days after sitting in front of it without
writing a word. My decision that I won’t write any politically a sensitive blog
has to be changed just because I cannot shut my eyes to truth.
My experience from twitter is mixed, from extreme abuses on
one side to praises and good words from other side. I have always taken both
with a calm and tried to be balanced in my approach to followers. I can tell
you with a conviction that I have not gone for a celebrity status, instead I kept
myself in this nutshell without compromising my integrity and ideology. I
interacted with BJP supporters other party supporters extensively, even when
they had a problem with my ideology, but as person they respect me and I am
happy about that. I believe that is the concept of India, even though you
disagree on ideologies you can work along irrespective where you are coming
from. I had the privilege to get immense support from my twitter friends from
my home state across party line. When a came back after a long break also I
didn’t felt like anything changed till few days back.
As a voter from Pathanamthitta LS constituency I always
follow positive and negative news about our constituency. So one of my friends
shared a twitter debate link I have gone through the issue and the handles
engaged in that debate and tweets those handles given in other issues.
From going through the handles who engaged in the debate I
understood few things.
1.
Intention of those handles are not to get any
answers
2.
Even though they try to project themselves as
neutral tweeple they are very much left leaning handles
3.
Presence of anonymous handle appearing and
provoking congress supporters in debate and disappearing
4.
So called neutral tweeple is answering only to
the questions they are comfortable
5.
Projecting a heated dialogue to another tweeple
as an abuse of them
( Issue started with a tweet on Thiruvalla bypass and bus
stand, so called neutral tweeple after understanding she shoot her own tribe –
Mathew T Thomas - changed direction to
railway station and started crying cyber bullying)
I tweeted that whatever organized campaigns you do with fake
ids our MP will win. To my surprise what followed was an attack on my identity
and DP. (I carry the DP of Karthika Menon who is a symbol of fight and model for
other girls). Comments were below the belt, it was character assassination and
comparing my character with of Karthika (read as horrible incident). I have
seen and faced such attacks from Sangh supporters, never thought communists
will go to that extent. Add to my insult the person who led this bullying is
complaining about cyber bullying. From her tweet itself is clear that there is
nowhere any congress worker used any bad words against her but against people
who are anonymous. But same person led a campaign against me.
My question to comrades, please tell me what renaissance you
people are fighting for? What you people accusing of Congress – cyber bullying
– same your people have done against me. And the person whom you celebrate as
the tweeple who trapped MP is just another Deepa Nishanth.
I wish to summarize few points on this controversy
1.
Issue doesn’t started with the question to Anto
Antony, no it was started with a tweet about Thiruvalla Bypass and taking a dig
at Narendra Modi
2.
When it was directed to Anto Antony, when
neutral Tweeple understood Bypass and Bus stand is failure of LDF, nothing to
do with Congress and MP
3.
Did Anto Antony threatened or intimidated her?
No, he used to answer in the same way the question is asked.
4.
Did she insulted
of Anto Antony – Yes, she insulted Anto Antony and Shashi Tharoor. May be her
intention was to provoke Congress supporters and get more attention and to milk
maximum out this controversy
5.
Did any congress supporter abused her – No , the
screen shots are taken out of context and shared, but when going through entire
discussion these replies are directed to other handles, not to her.
6.
Is this controversy is part of election campaign
– Yes . In 2009 LDF told that Anto
Antony is outsider, but it failed. Duplicate Anto Antony contested, it failed. In 2014 PC George campaigned
against Anto Antony, failed. Philipose Thomas, AICC member of Congress contested as
LDF candidate, that also back fired, now they are trying to damage reputation
of Anto Antony with a lady.
Many friends advised me to file a case
against people who spread very bad comments against me online, miss using my
religion, caste and DP , my stand is always same, I am not filing any case.
Threats and abuses are not new to me, but what hurt me is people from Kerala
can go such low to get few brownie points. As one of my follower told Manju Warrier also faced same abuse just because she said she is not participating in
Women’s wall, if a celebrity like Manju was abused then a small twitter
activist like me cannot expect any better from comrades.
Only one thing to tell you comrades, you are the biggest
hypocrites, because you people carry the biggest mask, not other parties.
